COURSE SYNOPSIS:

This training aims to spark reflection on various models of governance and leadership and their role in driving organisational success. Participants will develop essential skills for effectively fulfilling both governance and leadership roles, with a focus on decision-making and efficient management.

Through real-life case studies, decision-making exercises, and hands-on practice in areas like board management and operational oversight, participants will learn to build accountability, make strategic decisions under pressure, and manage resources effectively. 

Participants will leave equipped to tackle daily challenges, inspire teams, set clear priorities, and align their mission-driven goals with sustainable impact.

COURSE AUDIENCE:

Designed for Executive Directors and Managers of social organisations and civil society entities, as well as mid-level managers and professionals within these organisations.

TRAINER:

Francisco Santarém is a dedicated consultant and facilitator specialising in social impact and non-profit management, with hands-on experience in migration, education, and environmental conservation.

Since joining Stone Soup Consulting in 2023, Francisco has supported partners internationally on strategic planning, impact evaluation, and organisational development, aiming to help organisations enhance their social and environmental contributions. At IES Social Business School, where he has been a facilitator since 2018, he’s had the privilege of guiding over 100 organisations through training programmes on project development and impact measurement and management.

Francisco’s leadership experience with organisations such as Fundação Oceano Azul, SPEAK, and Movimento Transformers has enriched his perspective, motivating him to continually learn and contribute to innovative solutions for social and environmental impact. As co-founder of VERDE, a nature conservation organisation, Francisco brings his enthusiasm for ecological restoration, carbon offsetting, and biodiversity education to life, reflecting his commitment to preserving natural spaces.

With an academic background in Biology (Ecology) and a Master’s in Marketing Management, along with training in entrepreneurship and social innovation, Francisco brings both knowledge and curiosity to his work.
